I have been having so many problems with my Droid X since the Gingerbread update. It typically works fine for 12-24 hours after a reboot. Here's a list:

  • For the first few days after updating to Gingerbread, my phone would reboot itself randomly every 12-24 hours.
  • Unable to place calls, send SMS, or connect to the Verizon wireless network. Incoming calls work. wi-fi works.
  • Alarms do not go off.
  • Calendar reminders go off randomly, like 92 minutes after that important meeting with my boss early this morning.

Interactions with Verizon:

  • Friday 6/17/2011: had me turn off phone, remove and replace battery, power on phone, dial *228 and choose option 1.
  • Sunday 6/19/2011: had me do a factory reset. Lost all my applications and settings.
  • Thursday 6/23/2011: sending me out a replacement phone. They seem to think the Over The Air update to Gingerbread didn't install correctly, and that a phone they upgraded themselves will work properly. We'll see (next week).
